Commentary:
Parents, educators, or dietitians who are interested in children's nutrition should definitely stop by 24 Carrot Press. Back issues of the Feeding Kids Newsletter make up the bulk of the site. A trip through the archives, which date back to April 1996, turned up stories on ""Making Vegetables Appealing," "Nutrient Needs of Active Teen Boys," "Weight Concerns in Toddlers," and "Family Food Budgets." Written by Connie Evers, a registered dietitian, and distributed by e-mail only, the newsletter is an eclectic mix of practical articles, written in a warm, humorous tone. The information is referenced and many of the articles feature interviews with experts. Sections of the site promote Ms. Evers books and products, but Navigator did not review them. The site is well designed with fun graphics and easy navigatibility. Check out the up-to-date feature "This Week's Carrot"--a helpful hint for feeding kids.
